Archaeological Exhibition: The Etruscans in Parlascio
Archaeological Exhibition: The Etruscans in Parlascio
The discovery of materials dating back to Etruscan times on the Medieval Rocca di Parlascio has started a series of archaeological excavations which have involved both the top of the relief and the plateau at its foot. Here, traces of a housing settlement have been brought to light that can be dated back to the period between the 7th century before Christ and the middle Archaic phase. The latest excavation campaigns in particular, have brought to light the remains of a sacred building where a large quantity of local ceramic production has been found (pug ceramic and “Bucchero” ceramic) as well as importation material (Attic ceramic and transportation amphoras).
